Day #240: Bad Day

The Story:

What, oh what to do with this bad day

I think I’ll try to hide it.

 —

What, oh what to do with this bad day

Perhaps I should try to fight it.

What, oh what to do with this bad day

Oh, how I despise it.

 —

What, oh what to do with this bad day

I know, I’ll share it!

 —

What, oh what to do with this bad day

Maybe with wine, I’ll drown it.

 —

What, oh what to do with this bad day

It seems I can only survive it.

The Not So Fantastic Reality:

The above story was inspired by the following tidbits I encountered today:

ONE:      What a day! It started out bad, overslept by half an hour… man, I hate when I do that. Rushing out of the door, what do I forget? My phone. Going all day without a cell phone isn’t a huge deal for me but still, it was just one more thing. Top that with an admissions deadline at work, which translates into a bunch of procrastinators hoping for a miracle filling up my inbox and causing my phone to ring without stop. Being too busy to remember to eat didn’t help matters but it did help create a nice little (and by little, I mean HUGE) headache to form in-between my eyes. It seems like I might not have been the only one who woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, as almost everyone I spoke to had a similar “I wish I had stayed in bed today” look on their face. Sometimes, I think bad moods are catching, like icky mojo germs or something. After battling UCF graduate and rush hour Orlando traffic for an hour, I was ready to crawl into my pj’s and just decompress for the rest of the evening… ahhhh. Tomorrow’s another day!
